Donegal Centre For Independent Living(c)2010 All Rights Reserved.  Privacy Statement etc

In 2005 the Donegal Centre for Independent Living introduced the Personal Assistant of the Year Award which was an overwhelming success participated in by a vast majority of the leaders.

The award was designed to raise the public awareness of PAS and the crucial role they play in the Independent Living movement.

The event enables Leaders to evaluate the assistance and support given by their own PA, and show their appreciation by nominating them for the award.

The role of PA doesn't receive the same recognition as many similar roles and the competition goes somewhat towards addressing this under-recognition by raising their profile in the public arena.

The Awards are presented at the Christmas Party.

The 2009 Awards function saw the biggest attendance to date as well as the biggest nomination entry, which shows how popular the competition has become.
